I am going to Angeles city and might stay there for a while. It will be my first time to Angeles so I need advice on how to find a cheap good place to stay. I am travelling for 6 months so I cant spend 1000's of pesos per night :). Are there quiet paces near the bar areas? Any good maps? I am in Malaysia now and will fly over to Clark on Wednesday 9 september!

I hope you are able to get this before you fly.

Although I live in Cebu Province, I have been to Angeles a number of times over the years.

Here is where I stay when I go there: Hotel Hana

Wow, thanks so much Paul. I am going to Angeles tomorrow wednesday so I am still here in Kota Kinabalu. The Hotel Hana seem to be in my budget range and it looks nice. Location seems good to.

I still dont have the orientation of the Angeles city area figured out.  Fields ave is where the red light district is, right? Angeles city is something else? Sometimes I hear Balibago, where is that? :) Fields ave seems to be close to the Clark airport when I look at the map.

So, you´re going to AC :)...you´ll love it :D!

Pauls map is great & i´m sure you´ll like Hotel Hana (never tried it myself).
Yes, you are correct..Fields ave & perimeter road are where you´ll find the girlie bars...
The entertainment district is´nt that big actually.... but u got all the bars more or less in one place which is convenient.

Good luck & have a great stay !!!

ps. don´t forget to give us a trip report;)

Paul I really like the place (Hotel Hana), thanks again for recommending it to me. Guidebooks really dont talk much about Angeles hotels, which is a shame.

TheSwede !

If u get a chance....u gotta pop into the Shawarma place on Fields ave, not far from Blue Nile but on the opposite side of the street if my memory does´nt fail me. They got beef or chicken....cheap but oh so good food after/during a bar hop;) (resembles a small swedish tunnbrodsrulle:)).

A warning ;), the plastic ketchup bottles on tables are not filled with ketchup but with a tasty but strong  chilli mix....something i noticed after i filled my shawarma thinking it was ketchup :D . Guess i had to many beers that night;).

Patric I will go there for sure. I am just happy to get a few recommendations. I had a few beers last night, and met a few unique characters (expats). Many have quite interesting stories to tell. Patric, I linked to thephils.com in my blog update that I made yesterday. I didnt ask you first cause I took for granted that it was ok to do so! ;-)

I passed the Shawarma place several times, but I didnt eat there yet.  I will probably try to eat there tomorrow. All in all, Fields is not really my cup of tea. Pattaya really is a lot nicer to me, if we should compare a similar place. But everyone have different taste. This is mine. It is a good place to relax, I guess I am just not the clubbing type. I will give this place a few days more before I go somewhere else, probably Subic.

Great, thanks for linking to ThePhils.com ! :).

Yeah...i hear you....i also enjoy talking to many of the expats in the Phils (not only in AC).

Subic is nice !  There is a place i´m gonna try to visit next time we´re in Subic called Oceanadventure (check out the link below)...seems cool.

If you have´nt been to The Pancake House (restaurant) there is one of those as well in Subic.

Happy for u, i know u´re having a great time right now :).

Cheers!
