Hi all! I am so happy today. I got my ticket to the Philippines. I will stay 4 weeks in January 2008. WONDERFUL!!! My highest priority this time will be Palawan. I also hope to go to Mindanao. Maybe a visit to the ati-atihan festival too!! I just discovered that it takes place in January. It will be easy to go to work every day in December :D

Let us pray that the people affected by Mitag will be ok. I miss Bicol a lot and I feel for the people there when I see the typhoon warnings. I feel helpless.

Take care!

Hi Patric! I am so happy this time cause it is years since I managed to go in the winter time. I think the weather will be less of a worry too, especially in the philippines, where there are sometimes typhoons in other times of the year. As a northern born Swede I feel so trapped during winter here. I even get depressed. Although lately I have started playing icehockey again. I am very fit now in fact, lol, I ran my first Stockholm marathon in June .

Palawan has been something of a "must go" destination for many years now. What I feel a bit bad about sometimes though, when going to such places is that I dont have a diving certificate. After 16 years of travelling I didnt get to take one yet!!!! I am sure it would be nice to have that in Palawan :D.

I will surely give u all a trip report when i come back home.

Take care

A few travel itinarery changes. I will go immediately to Davao a few hours after touchdown in Manila. I feel really excited about Mindanao! At least as excited as about Palawan. I will try to do a loop, starting in Davao and ending in CDO. Then try to go to Puerto Princesa from CDO. It is possible that my enire month will be spent on Mindanao if I like it a lot! I am a very changeable person when it comes to travel plans, as you might have noticed!! I got a good deal with Cebu Pacific at about 2400 pesos one way, Manila-Davao. At least I think it is a good deal :D. I figure it is best I go to mindanao first, cause if I dont I will never get there...hehe. Very excited about this trip now.

WOW - I have been missing a lot here....Sorry guys.

TheSwede....if you want to visit Philippines...yes Mindanao is a must....for those who are not into the "exotic" travel, they wouldn't have a good time.

But...Palawan....I would NOT pass that up either.....I have a video shot on Palawan.....We hope to make it there next time.

Have a GREAT TRIP!

Hello guys! As usual I am having the same problem as I always have when going to the Philippines. It is very hard to make up my mind on the route :D. I have now decided to do a lot of places in Mindanao and stay there the whole month if I like it a lot over there. It feels like it is going to be hard to do both Mindanao and Palawan in the same trip in only 4 weeks. Unfortunately :D. But maybe I will do some Negros and/or Panay after Mindanao instead. That will be done by flying from CDO to Cebu city. Palawan feels a bit scary not to book in advance and decide to do late, I dont want to miss my flight from Manila back to Sweden!
