Manila-Naga-Legaspi-Sorsogon (Rizal Beach near Gubat)-Catbalogan-Tacloban-Tagbilaran-Siquijor-Dumaguete-Manila. This was the places I visited on this trip to the Philippines. All in all, after coming back home and thinking back on it, it was a wonderful trip, with a lot of luck and good timing. The luck part was the weather which was good the whole time. It is my second trip to the Philippines and I was very lucky with the weather both times!
The definitive highlight (even though I found many things amazing, the people I met and so on...) with this trip was the whale sharks in Donsol. I just found it totally amazing and when I got up on the boat after my first whale shark encounter, I couldnt hold back my tears. It is not only amazing but ALSO easy accessible for people who are not divers. It was the end of season for the whale sharks so I was a bit lucky with that too, to be able too see them. It seemed to be only two or three around, when I was there. What was really nice in Bicol was also nature and the people. I was amazed about the hospitality shown everywhere and I never felt threatened in any way. Naga and Legaspi was both nice small towns. After those two I went to a beach called Rizal Beach which was wonderful, after coming from the stress in the west. I also had met up with a pinay in Manila and we travelled together. It is wonderful to have someone you love with you in a romantic place like Rizal Beach. There was only us. It really felt like low low season! In reality it probably was a combination of low season and little known place to travellers. The beach was high class and it was a small village feel over the whole place that was really nice.
On to Samar and a bit of rain when we entered the capital Catbalogan. Quite nice town too to walk around and discovering the local culture. To summarize Leyte and Samar, I really have to say that the nature stands out in these two islands. The bad roads stands out in Samar . Roads were nearly perfect in Leyte. Now afterwards, I felt that these two islands needs a lot more time than I had this time for them. I still felt that I saw the places I went to quite good though, cause I travelled by land and water all over. Only took the plane back to Manila from Dumaguete. On Bohol I had my base in Tagbilaran and rented a motorbike the whole time there to explore all of Bohol and Panglao. I liked Bohol, it was nice, but the beaches wasn't as good as I had hoped. But the nature in the interior of the island made up for that. My girlfriend went back to Mindanao and I went to Siquijor alone. Siquijor was nice to explore by motorbike. Usually I am against driving to much myself in Asia cause of the accident risk. If Bohol felt a bit dangerous, Siquijor was a breeze to drive. Almost no traffic around the island. Wonderful. Again the beaches was a bit disappointing but all other things make up for that. The wonderful people and the nature.
My last city was a nice one too. I liked Dumaguete a lot.
At the moment I feel a bit out of energy, and a bit sad that I didn't get myself to write more than this. No inspiration these days. I promised more than I wrote . Anyway, better than nothing . I will try to put some pictures later on. Must reduce them in size first.

| Swimming pool at the Coral Cay Resort, Siquijor. Wonderful to swim at night. The beach wasn't good enough to swim, but the pool was nice! Attached Image (viewed 14 times):
