Kinda getting used to the "style" of driving in Manila now... However, the first time i was sitting as a passenger in a car in Manila i was every now & then shouting out warnings to the driver (who only smiled)....

Nowdays on the other hand it´s different.... would´nt want to drive there (yet),  but the traffic style makes more sence to me now.

I found this kind of funny  "How´s my driving?" (printed on the back of every cab in town) :) :D.... Does anyone ever call these numbers?

Here are a couple of pics of what i´m talking about

I used to think that driving in the Philippines was complete chaos, but then it dawned on me that I actually saw very few accidents over a six year period. I think the explanation is that Filipinos are more conscientious drivers than many Americans are. They are far more used to unpredictable road conditions as well as large numbers of pedestrians to deal with... something that (depending on where you live) is not a factor in the US.

Combine that with the fact that many places have little signage and perhaps no working traffic light... it simply forces drivers to pay more attention to their surroundings, and to be courteous to other drivers and to pedestrian traffic.

Filipino drivers also make much more use of the horn (a light tap) than American's do. It is generally not used to let another driver know that you are angry (as is often the case here), but as a warning (the way it was intended).
