One of the growing trends in the medical sector is in the area of cosmetic surgery.  Many foreigners fly in to have a boob job or liposuction at a fraction of what it would cost in the US or Europe.

Post away your reactions to this... ;)

Maven !

I think this might be a very interesting subject for quite a few.

What would be good to know (considering the Phils has competition from other countries like Thailand, India & so on) would be if someone knows a price quote / the pricerange for the most common procedures & perhaps could recommend Doctors / Clinics / Hospitals in Manila.

Cheers !

Has anyone experienced cosmetic surgery on his/her face by a Filipino physician in PI?

If you did, what kind of facial cosmetic surgery and are you happy with the results?  If you are happy, then would you kindly PM (private message) or e-mail me the physician's name and address.

A colleague told me that for over a year he received monthly laser treatments by a physician in Makati and the treatments were to stimulate cell growth and thereby reduce lines and other aging signs.  However, I did not notice any obvious change and told him so.  My colleague agreed that he also did not see any effects.  I guess that it was not really cosmetic surgery but more in the nature of a beauty treatment.

in the philippines, it is legal for any doctor to do cosmetic surgery.  even a new doctor who did not specialize in surgery can do a face lift.  that's why, whether you're a local or a foreigner coming to the philippines for cosmetic surgery, what's important is to check the credentials of the surgeon.  my friend went to dr. carlos lasa and found him to be very accomodating and she was very satisfied with her surgery.  i went to his website Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Philippines and it has a lot of information about how to select a qualified surgeon and the different procedures.
