 Cebu Pacific !

We flew with Cebu Pacific from Manila Domestic terminal to Tagbilaran & back.

I must say i was impressed by this airline ! The seats & legspace was actually better on these planes then on the long haul KLM flights. This is of course because Cebu pacifics planes are new & they have also decided to choose leather seats.

Now, when u walk into the plane from the hot & humid conditions outside, the airplanes aircon is already working full spead wich really helps to make your flight more comfortable.

These flights are really short (1 hour & 40 something minutes) so i´m content with the bottles of icetea that they hand out during the flight.

We booked & paid for our e-tickets online through their website which was very easy. What also worked well was that Cebu Pacific emailed us ahead of time of schedule changes.

Top rating for this Airline from my point of view !

Check out their site:

I agree.

I have flown CebuPacific I don't know how many times. A very reliable airline. I try to fly everywhere in the Philippines, via Cebu Pacific.

Hhm, i have heard similar complaints about their international routes but it seems like the quality off their domestic routes are different (better).

Don´t know....but i think it has to do with the fact that all "bargain/cheap" small airlines will have much lower priority for landing/takeoff slots at airports than the big carriers have.

Cheers!

I plan to NEVER fly with PAL (Philipine AirLines) again. I will try to ALWAYS use Cebu Pacific :D, I have traveled with both airlines & I like Cebu Pacific much better ;), I think I was double charged for a soft drink though, while flying Cebu Pacific. Other than that, I really like Cebu Pacific.

Bangkok Dave: The ridiculous flight times...... In my opinion, that's a problem nationwide in the Philippines. They can't get organized in a way that is easy on the traveler.:( For some crazy reason (hummmm), almost no matter where you are flying to or from, you will first go to Manila. What should be no more than a 3 hour travel ends up being an all day process for the "first you go to Manila, then change planes, then you go to blah, blah, blah" To get from CDO to Cebu, you have to fly OVER Cebu to Manila, change planes (another ticket) and then fly back to Cebu :(.

I have a solution for this, make ALL Visiting Filipinos, when they are in the USA, no matter where they are flying to, first they must fly to New York City, change planes. Even if they are flying from LA, California to Sacramento, California.  Bog down their travel times and visits while they are here, they just might restructure. :D Please don't stone me....just a joke :D.

Hi Kevin: PAL is expensive compared to Cebu Pacific. But I like to take PAL from the US because I don't have to change airport to make a connecting flight to Cagayan de Oro city. When taking Cebu Pacific, however, I noticed that its partner airlines must go through other Asian countries, then to the Phils. On one hand, nobody can beat  that PhP1.00 deal by Cebu Pacific. I hope they'll start flying to the US!

CDO-Manila-Cebu is a weird route ! There's a CDO-Cebu flight but I am not sure if it's daily and I forgot the airline's name-- but a greater chance to get cancelled. CDO-Cebu is only an overnight travel by boat (leave  6 pm, arrival 5 am) and it's daily. Most travelers opt to travel by sea.

Hello Lumbia,

I was also told that there is a direct flight from Camiguin to Cebu :? ....it is done by one of the smaller airlines. I didn't check into it, but that is what I was told a couple of times while there.

We took the Ferry from CDO to Cebu......wasn't impressed with Cebu Ferries....they were like 3-4 hours late departing, got us real behinde on our Cebu plans.:( Then we took Cebu Ferries Super Cat to Tagbi, Bohol.....they were 1.5 hours late getting that one off. :( Those were the ONLY 2 let downs during our whole trip....so really that's not bad.

Thanks for the reply.

Hi Kevin,

Man, I don't know about takin' one of those prop jobs from any two points in the Philippines. Jets, yes. Props, no way. I would have to pray the entire time I was on the plane! :D :P

Cebu-Camiguin flights by SeAir are three times a week. A friend of mine visited our hometown and she was greatly surprised because it's not only his luggage that's weighed, she, too. She thought the airline personnel was joking when she was asked to step-on the weighing scale!

Commuting in the Phils needs patience. Sad to say, Filipino time is the time, meaning, transports are not always on time more often, by land, sea or air. We used to label PAL as PAL Always Late. That was when it monopolyzed the airline industry.  thanks to the  emergence of competitors.

Kevin, you and Jessie must have enjoyed your Phil vacation!

if you ask me i think they should weigh everyone on a flight with their luggage. i get a bit pissed off when they try to charge me for an excess 2kilo or so when the next passenger to me is twice my weight, they should pay for 2 seats if thats the case.

easiest thing is to wear all your heavier clothes on the plane, i had to walk away from check in once and retry after donning half my backpack. worked though.

as a response to cebu pacific, well i can't fault the price or the flight, the only problem i had was trying to actually find someone to sell me a ticket at angeles airport. the ticket office ( table outside) was open from 9a.m but nobody came till 20 minutes before departure so there was a bit of pandemonium when the girl decided to grace us with her presence, apart from that i had no problems. the flights to changi do arrive at stupid o'clock though but that's to be expected on international cheapies!!

Hi all.

Did anyone of you guys book tickets with Cebu Pacific while still in your home country? Patric? I am thinking about booking a ticket to Puerto Princesa from Manila online with Cebu Pacific. I was wondering if anyone encountered any problems with this. Also, any other good domestic airline to book tickets online with?

Hey !

Yes, we went online & booked our tickets Manila-Tagbilaran & back through Cebu pacifics web site. No problems at all.... got the e-ticket & that´s what we showed at the terminal (domestic) to get in & at the check in desk as usual. The only problems i´ve heard people have are if they try to get a refund/cancel the e-ticket (a hassle to get in contact with them trough email) & when flying internationally with Cebu pacific (delays, overbooking etc) but their domestic flights are very good (new fleet of planes).

Cheers!

Thanks!! This sounds very good! I am used to purchasing things on the net by now, but I never booked a ticket like this, that is why I asked :). I figure that I need to book in advance to get the good fares! I will stay for maximum 1 night in Manila, or better yet, go to Palawan the same day as I arrive in Manila!

Thanks again guys for your fast response, amazing!

I dont know whether this should be in a new thread or not, but I thought this thread was fine for my question.

I have been booking with Cebu Pacific many times online, without any problems. Last night I had a lot of problems. But only with one thing, the visa card payment step. I am also using the same card as when I succeeded before! It declines my payment each time, and it seems like a nightmare to get in touch with cebu paicific without calling them, which of course is an option.

I have seen on other forums that many people seems to have problems with this, but I never heard anyone that have come up with a solution.

This is really a pity cause I like Cebu Pacific and the prices are great!

I would be very happy if someone have a solution to this!

All in all it is great value to fly Cebu Pacific, but their website seems to be too much for many people.

I think I give up to book a ticket (online) with Cebu Pacific now. Very frustrating! I even did that "VISA Verified" thing now. Cebu Pacific site sucks in this matter, no message whatsoever in what the problem is or someone to contact.

Hhm, sorry to hear that you´re having problems with Cebu Pacifics customer service (or the lack of it ;)). But, unfortunately they don´t seem to have done much at all to improve the bad reputation of avoiding all contact.

All is well when all is well.....  but when there is a problem....  Cebu Pacific seem to continue to piss all over their customers by having a customer service not worth having.

I have no explanation to this behavior since most customers seem to be satisfied with this airline (domestic flights that is) in most other aspects compared to the competition.

Anyway, Good luck !

I was trying to book a Hong Kong-Davao flight. I couldnt find any other good deals on that route with other airlines. Direct flight for 800 Kong Kong dollar. I can see in this post that you mentioned that international flights can be different in quality than domestic. I will probably use some other airline, must be many that fly Hong Kong-Manila at least.

Just want to keep you guys inform that after getting a few declines on the Cebu Pacific site I decided to block my card and take withdraw all my money from the account. I did that after I heard some Australians got charged after getting a "decline" on their payment! Just got a bit scared, although the amounts are relatively small :D

Good !

As i understand it, CC companies (primarily Mastercard & Visa but even Amex) in Sweden are not at all as "customer friendly" as they are in the US.... I´m not sure (never had to try) if it´s possible for us here in Sweden to call our CC provider & have them cancel what ever funds drawn towards whatever company the customer is having problems with (it works in the US).

This possibility would be a very big advantage for the customer since it will pressure companies (like Cebu Pacific) NOT to ignore the customer when there is a problem.... the only reason they are doing this now is cause they can.... meaning they don´t have to bother,  cause they know that once you´ve made the transaction with your CC they´re homefree.

I really hate it when any company shows this kind of disrespect towards their customer base.
