My husband and I stayed in Manila Peninsula Hotel in Makati. One of the best hotels we've stayed. It is walking distance to Glorietta Mall for shopping facilities and variety of department stores, boutiques, Outback Restaurant, and Hard Rock Cafe. Also, it is like 30 minutes drive to International Airport.
As you enter in the entrance of this hotel you will love the cathedral ceiling. Extremely awesome stairways!
You will love this hotel as I do. I missed the The Peninsula Spa, the sauna and the steam room. Of course, I had my first massage in this hotel, was pretty funny because I was giggling a lot while the masseuse was massaging me. I am sorry but I couldn't help it  , I was born to be ticklish, lol. My husband was in the next room, he had his massage too, and he heard me and was wondering why I was giggling and he didn't have an idea that I was giggling because I was tickled with my masseuse. (Silly me!)
And oh, you gonna love their food. This hotel offers/serves fine dining options like European, Italian, and my Asian food,  . This hotel has a wide and lovely dining area. The food is totally magnifico .
This hotel got also a live band performer at the bars wherein I had a chance to requests a song for them and the band even let me sang with them on stage of the song I did requested, wasn't it cool  ?

I just want to echo what Amazing Cherry wrote.
The place was tops.
We stayed there May 3rd & May 4th-2007.

This was by far the best hotel for the $$$ that I have stayed in.
We will stay there again, it was that nice. All of the employees had very nice uniforms, the ladies were stunning. The guys were very professional. I have NEVER been treated with so much respect from hotel employees. These people worked liked they believed in what they were doing, not just going through the motions.
I was very impressed with the hotel decor, cleanliness, employees, accuracy - everything!
If you want to spend over $100-$200 a night on a room - Go with The Peninsula Hotel. It will be like a $300-$400 a night room in the STATES!
