I stayed at the Bohol Beach Club in Panglao on 2 different occasions. The 1st time I had just entered to stay the day, but soon realized I wouldn't have enough time to utilize everything there. I decided to check in. Without reservations is NOT the way to go. I believe my Deluxe room ran me about $90.00. The "Consumables" 450p that I had paid at the gate went towards the room charge. Yes, if you are not a member you have to pay 450p (About $9.00) at the entrance gate. That could go towards your meal. One can become a member for as little as 2,000p/yr and that will get you into TAMBULI East & West and Cebu Beach Club all on Mactan.
I had a wondeful time. White sandy Beach. Clean swimming pools and of course the Ocean. I received a complentary boat ride as well. Dinner Buffet was only 500P.
The next time I booked on line and the rate I paid was NET. Fantastic! No hidden charges. I skipped the TV and saved $10/night. After all I wasn't there for TV. (OK. I did have Seinfeld withdrals). No Seinfeld in japan. C'Mon. They could never translate it!
Again, I had a great time. I just kept think hot everyone back home was frezzin' and I was on the white sandy beach!
I paid 500p for my 30-min-taxi-ride to Panglao. Yes! I know. I overpaid. The driver will tell you he has to return to the Pier with an empty taxi and that's why he wants more and doesn't want to use the meter.
Would I go again? Yes, of course, but after reading the review Bohol Tropics Resort I may just try it!
Thnx,
JOMADS

I wanted to add a little more to my review...
The room: The 2nd time there I stayed in the "new" end. Right in front of the swimming pool that I have posted a pics of. (I set the camera to QUICK SHUTTER and did a 360 and kept my finger on the shutter and shot a panoramic view,, yes, not the best .. I know.)
I did ask to see the room before accepting it.
Inside: Very Comfortable. Queen size bed and a single. Bathroom/shower was fine .. no complaints.
Outside: There's a small patio with a table with 2 chairs. I had my morning coffee there before going to the restaurant. Great view of the pool and ocean. I enjoyed just sitting there very much when I wanted out of the sun... It was April and the SUN was directly overhead at 12 noon! READ: "HOT!!!"
Breakfast was 250p for the buffet. Isn't that good? I mean, I was at a RESORT and breakfast was only $5.00 USD. (Actually the $ - Peso rate was over 50Php to $1.00 back then, so it was under $5.00)
Related topic ... Tambuli Beac Club on Mactan: The owner of Tambuli is the same as the Bohol B.C. I was extremely disappointed with the beach at Tambuli. I was expecting it to be just like the beach in Bohol.
Well, there just isn't the space. The beach is rather short. That's why everyone stays at the pool. If you do go to the beach be prepared to be asked about taking a boat ride, jet sky rental and buying shell jewelry. All three Beach Clubs are connected to each other.... That's Tambuli West/Cebu Beach Club/Tambuli East. Still the beaches are long... Yeah, I got spoiled in Bohol.
