Whilst recently visiting the Philippines we stayed over in Manila for a few days and found a teriffic Italian restuarant called Italianis. It's a franchise as it has a smaller branche in the Glorietta Mall in Makati.

The Geenhills restuarant has an outdoor section as well as an indoor air conditioned area on two levels.

The menu is superb and reasonably priced and look out for a waitress called D' she is superb.

Regards.

Jim.

Have´nt been to Italianni´s yet but it is on our list of Restaurants so in a few weeks we´ll be enjoying dinner there.

The Greenhills branch seem to be the best choice indeed.

Thanks for the tip Jim.

Cheers !

i beg to disagree about italliani's.  food is ok but really, it's nothing exceptional.  it's basically itallian fastfood surrounded in good ambiance.

you want the real deal?

Amici Di Don Bosco is a cafeteria in Don Bosco School Makati.  it's located at the corner of Pasay Road (Arnaiz Ave.) and Don Chino Roces Ave.

there is no italian ambiance to this place but all the recipes are originals from the italian priests of Don Bosco.

price per serving?  half of italianni's

tastewise? italliani's is way behind

as a parting note, i have a friend who ensures she pops into an italian restaurant in every city in the world she visits.  she's been around to say the least.  her verdict : Amici Di Don Bosco is in the top 2 italian restos she's been to.

;)

Never got a chance to go to the Amici Di Don Bosco Restaurant...there was just not enough time :(. Next trip we´ll spend a couple of more days in Makati & then we´ll visit the above Resto for sure.

However, we did actually get to go & check out Italianni´s at their Greenhills branch.

Since i myself love Italian food my wife knew there was no stopping Patric going into Italianni´s :).

We didnt see the waitress "D" but we got a waiter going by the name of Spencer who did a very good job.

We opted for "The baked Ziti" (we both ordered it). Before u get your order u are served real Italian style fresh bread. Spencer showed us how to mix the vinigrette with the olive oil (at least that´s what i think he did if my memory doesnt fail me) & break of pieces of the bread & dip it in the mix.... which was new for me..but interesting & good!

We got the Baked Ziti & it was perfect. Very good!

The ambience of Italianni´s is nice.... no question about it.

What i (we) liked was also as Jim pointed out that they have an outdoor section where smoking is allowed (yeah yeah, i know some of u guys don´t like smokers). Smoking is not allowed inside the Resto which is ok with me. After we finished our meals we told Spencer that we´d take our drinks & move to a table outside to have a smoke. Very convenient!

Italianni´s belongs to the same group (Bistro Group)  as the Outback Restaurant & T.G.I Fridays.

See our review of the Outback Restaurant:

Conclusion of Italianni´s :

Very good service, food was perfect & prices were not bad either considering the standard & location. Will we go there again? Sure!

(Sorry, no pics..forgot to bring my camera)
