Well, that´s just it....

If the majority of moderate muslims in the Phils would rise up as a unified front.... then they could without any major problems stomp out these "radical" tribal muslim fractions in the south (This goes globally as well).

This way these Abu Sayef & groups like them could´nt complain & whine about us infidels (western or Filipino catholics) messing with them.

Strangeley enough, the moderate part off the muslim community is very quiet (this goes for all muslim nations)..... Why is this? :?

Cheers!

Isn't it! I've also commented on this. Why are the muslim leaders and also the general muslim community not trying harder to stomp out the radicals in their midst? Why do they not publically condemn them more strongly?

I think there are a few reasons why....I'll give what I think are 2 BIG reasons.

1) It's a religious thing, Just like so many Catholics refuse to believe it is happening or comment on the world-wide PEDOPHILE problem within the Catholic church. Some of the BIG protestant churches had some different problems in the past that their members tried to "overlook".

Religion and Governments are a strange thing, their followers are always in denial of the very problems within their own ranks. As in governments. How easy is it for non-Filipinos to critcize the Government of the PHILIPPINES for it's poverty, corruption and justice. But yet look at the U.S.A., we have the same problems here......maybe a little different, but we have them.....Look at FRANCE , need I say more there?....What about Germany.

What I am attempting to say is, when you get a Government that is lead by a religion, you get twice the stupidity:shock:, twice the morons:shock:, and twice the idiots that just follow blindly . Islam GOVERNS the people, no matter what country you are in, if you are a follower of Islam, that IS your government........ Didn't the CATHOLIC Church do the same thing? sure it did, France or Spain went into new lands, converted the people or killed them if they didn't convert. You had no choice.

It's the same old story, just a different religion and time. I think the Mongolians did the same thing back in their days of conquer.

2) If you knew your neighbor was a "terrorist muslim" would you speak out knowing it might be your head or a family member's head sawed off the next day? Esp. if you live down in ZAMBOANGA or SULA? The ants would pick your bones clean before anyone would decide to investigate it....am I right?

I would just add that it is everyone's responsibility to speak out against society's injustice.

I agree for sure! :D Sad to say, it just doesn't happen that way......it's been a long time ago since something like that happened....maybe 1776 :D ;)

Carabaokevin!

It WOULD work ! I´m quite sure of it (i do understand your point that people can/are intimidated & so on) but, look at what & how the NPA works & what they do.

I was told by an expat friend in the Phils that for example; If a kid is molested in a province village... many times the NPA will get hold of the perp & make swift justice. (nobody else will take any measures to see to it that justice is made).

Who are the NPA? = ordinary filipinos.....

So, if they (the NPA) has the balls & conviction to do what they do i´m sure there would be a similar recruitment base from within the muslim community to "take care of business".

But, again Carabokevin ;).... The majority of the people wont have the courage for it, but it doesnt have to be more than a small percentage that does for it to succeed. These militia units wouldnt have to live in Zamboanga...but, as long as they are muslims it would prove to the rest of the nation (world) that all moderate muslims are´nt all that bad (as they want us to believe).

Cheers!
