It is not the schools' job to indoctrinate children into religion. If I were a parent I would like the choice as to whether my kids become catholic or not, and many schools are teaching religion as though it is a fact and not a belief system.

Sorry, but am lost here. Are you referring to schools in the Phils or US ?

This is a shocking info to me, Kevin. I thought all the while that the US govt is regulating the public school system only in terms of religious activities.  Even the private Christian schools ?

lumbia,

There have been different attempts to try to control private Schools, Christian and Non-Christian, for a variety of reasons, probably if the truth was spoken, it's because Private Schools are WAY AHEAD of the public school system which is in shambles and getting worse! :(

Some of our Politicians have tried to pass a bill to give parents "vouchers" so their children could attend the school of their choice, if the voucher wasn't enough, then the parent had to pay the difference. Pro choice, thats what our liberals keep telling us. Well, of course this idea would be near death to the Public School system. So many of our "beloved" liberals (you know, the ones that know what is best for us all) voted it down. I guess those clowns are Pro-Choice only when it comes to abortion....everything else is their way or no way....they call it FREEDOM!?!?!?!? :X

Enough of this, i'm getting off topic!

Tommygurl said many schools do not say prayors any more. I don't know for certain whether she was talking about the US or the Philippines.

My point is that parents should have a choice as to whether their children are indoctrinated in religion or not!
